Kalpana Sharma (India)
Kalpana Sharma is an independent journalist, columnist, and author based in Mumbai, India. With over five decades in journalism, she has held senior positions at Himmat Weekly, Indian Express, Times of India, The Hindu, and Economic & Political Weekly. She currently writes a regular media column for Newslaundry.com, where she examines questions of press freedom, accountability, and representation.
Her reporting has long focused on environmental, urban, and developmental issues, as well as gender, human rights, and the role of media in shaping public discourse.
